My Return to America - 1957

CWO Jorgen Lorenzen arrives back at NSMW, 1957, bag and baggage.
 

 

The flight from Copenhagen to New York was a long one.
 


[JL-12] Trans-Atlantic flight wasn't so common in 1957. I was given this certificate for making the trip.

I stayed long enough to see the sights in New York City.


[JL-13] This is the airplane I arrived on.

[JL-14] This is a NYC ladder fire truck during a strike .

Before reaching my destination at Yorktown, I enjoyed the sights of Washington, DC

Close to Yorktown, I spent some time at Front Royal.

[JL-25] Laws for driving in America are different
 from Denmark, which I soon discovered.

 home of Belle Boyd, Confederate spy.

I made a short trip to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains


[JL-27] I joined an American officer from Yorktown for the trip.

Jamestown was the first American Colony, begun in 1607.
