What are they doing now?

While the years have passed, the fraternity of minemen is everlasting.

Four old Azuma Island mineman. We had a mini-meet at Ruth's Chris Steak House, near Disneyland on 11-4-10 hosted by Wayne Evans. Reminiscing their good times on Bakashima together from 1951 to 1954. From left to right: Judge George Preston MN2, Larry (Joe) Johansen MN2, Chin Sing MNC, and Wayne Evans MN2. [Thanks to Chin Sing for the photo]

SHARK BAIT: JOHN IWANIEC
I served in the Mine Force from Mar 1971- Sept 2001, from E-2 - to LCDR. I loved the Mine Force and wouldn't trade a minute of my career.
I am currently in Iwakuni Japan working as the Director of Marine Corps Community Services. I basically run everything on base and have 800 employees. My home is still in Hawaii where my daughter is attending the University of Hawaii as an Electrical Engineering student. My plans are to return to Florida and live somewhere near the panhandle possibly Pensacola or Panama City in a couple of years.

Got a photo of what you're doing today? Send it in!
