MOMAT 0321 Det ALFA deployed to the U. S. Naval Station, Keflavik, Iceland, during the months of July and August 1964 for the assembly of mines for the FSMT NAVICE 2-65. These completed mines were also airlifted to the Naval Station, Argentia.
For the final preparation of the mines for FSMT EASTLANT 3-65 and NAVICE 2-65, MOMAT 0321 Det Alfa deployed to the U. S. Naval Station, Argentia, Newfoundland, during the months of August and September 1964.
Mine components at both sites were removed from the preposition explosive loaded mines and then installed into mine cases used for the FSMT. Replacement components brought to the respective sites were installed into the preposition mines. The results of the FSMT allowed the evaluation of the mine components at these sites.
