The latest BuPers Manual gives the following description of MINEMAN in Chapter 52.
The rating was established on 12 October 1943 and continues to exist.

PLEASE! Help me add photos of any Minemen -- anywhere--anytime -- who served in the Mineforce.

It's been 50 years for some of us and long past time to recall friends and acquaintances. If you are a Mineman and served from the 1940's to the present day, we want to share your photos and memories. Send 'em to me and I'll be happy to post them here.
