June
5-7, 2001, in Central, Northern, and Western, New York state

Here's the game plan:
We are convening in the Finger Lakes district of central New York. We will stay at the picturesque Canandaigua Inn on the Lake, Canandaigua, NY. On the lakeshore and next to the town pier.
The Inn has many amenities of which a few are:

Route 90 Thruway
Free parking, with
unlimited parking space for recreational vehicles (sorry no hook
ups)

6:30 A.M.

Tuesday
aftenoon, June 5th
After checking into the
Inn, we will all meet in the Hospitality/Jacuzzi Suite that has a
balcony overlooking the pleasant Canandaigua Lake and Squaw
Island. Bring your (bathing suit?) photo albums, scrapbooks, and
family memorabilia and join a time of sharing, refreshments, and
New York wine tasting. This is where the reunion begins! We will
have Welcome packets and your unique and enviable
"Hartshorn/Hartshorne" T-shirts waiting for you.
Wednesday,
June 6th
Three-hour narrated
bus trip to the gorgeous Thousand Islands in the St. Lawrence River
Seaway, in upstate New York's North Country, along the Canadian
border. We will:


See the legendary Erie Canal, on our way to Alexandria Bay, NY where we will embark on a 2 1/2 hour, narrated, 2-nation cruise of the Thousand Islands.
Tour Boldt Castle on Heart Island. Built, as a gesture of love for his wife Louise, by George C. Boldt, of the Waldorf Astoria fame. The castle was never completed or occupied, because Louise died before it was finished.
Dine at Captain's Landing, on a floating barge restaurant overlooking the St. Lawrence River and Boldt Castle.

Thursday,
June 7th
Two-hour narrated
bus trip will take us through western New York State to the
magnificent Wonder of the World, Niagara Falls, New York.
We will:
Overlook the Bridal Veil and American Falls from the water's edge
and a spectator's tower
Descend into the
Niagara River Gorge via a glass elevator.
Take the Maid of the Mist for a 20 minute boat ride beneath the falls themselves.
Visit beautiful Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, Use your Day
Pass to ride the People
Mover shuttle and see the:
Green House and aviary, Whirlpools, Floral Clock, Botanical Gardens (All Free) and more. Also, Niagara Falls has many other attractions that can be explored during the tour.
For those born in the United States, picture ID is all that is needed to return to the US from Canada All others will need to present their passport.
Take a narrated bus trip to Letchworth State Park, donated by NY State Senator Letchworth and the location of the "Grand Canyon of the East" to see:
Hartshorn monument commemorating Major Davis C. Hartshorn's contribution to troop training during the Civil War.
Upper and Middle Falls, the Glen Iris Inn and gift shop, and the Lower Falls.
Return back to the Canandaigua Inn on the Lake for a chuck wagon cookout and a business meeting.
