of Broseley, Salop. and
Pittsburg, Crawford Co., KS
Descendants of
Richard HARTSHORNE
and his son, Joseph and
grandson, Richard.
This line has not knowingly been followed back beyond Richard even though Broseley records are well documented. The Shropshire Hartshorns appear to have been drawn to the coal and iron industries found there. They probably came from the earliest settlements of Leics., Derby,and Nottinghamshire.
One of three known brothers,
he and Hiram came to America.
Hiram settled in Peoria, Illinois, Richard settled in
Pittsburg.
