21. Mary Jane HARTSHORN ⁽¹⁾ was born on 30 Nov 1876 in Shropshire, England. She died on 28 Jun 1966 in Hermiston, Umatilla, Oregon. Mary Jane Harthsorn died 15 June 1966 (according to SSDI). Obit give burial date as 30 June. Questionable if there would be a lag of two weeks in the hot summer(?) -DSH
She was buried on 30 Jun 1966 in Oakwood Mem'l Park, Santa Cruz, California. She came to America with her parents in 1881 and lived in Pittsburg, Kansas until 1908 when she and husband James moved to Gregory, S.D. Together, they moved the short distance to Tripp County in 1909 when they homesteaded until moving to California in 1935. When her husband passed away in 1955, she moved to Oregon to live with her daughter, Lena May. Mary Ann entered a nursing home in 1962 and spent the rest of her life there.

She was married to James Theodore BALM on 23 Dec 1896 in Pittsburg, Crawford, Kansas. James Theodore BALM was born on 14 Dec 1871 in Denmark, Lee, Iowa. He died on 31 Aug 1955 in Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz, California. He was buried on 4 Sep 1955 in Oakwood Mem'l Park, Santa Cruz, California. (Notes from Jeff Farinacci indicate name spelled "BALM," not the BAUM previously reported.) Mary Jane HARTSHORN and James Theodore BALM had the following children:
