I would like to thank Dick Nelson for his tireless work on the Spear family. He has provided us with an interesting insight into the perfidious marriage of George Hartshorn to Betsy Spear.

Having been born in the same state and county (Hampden Co., Mass.) as Betsy Spear, this project really interested me. I have tried to make the links between these two families but never got to first base with the Spear family. Dick Nelson was the individual who made this all possible.
