76. George Edward HARTSHORN was born on 4 Oct 1845 in Marion Twp, Allen County, Ohio. He died on 22 Mar 1911 in Marion Twp, Allen County, Ohio.¹⁶ He was buried on 24 Mar 1911 in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos, Ohio. He was Stationery Engineer. He died at age 67 at his sister's home, Mrs. Josiah Clawson East of Delphos. Death was caused by cancer of the cheek. Mr. Hartshorn had lived in Delphos for several years. He had four children, names not listed, and only mentioned two sisters Mrs. Josiah Clawson and Mrs. Eckfeld of Marion, Ohio. Mrs. Eckfeld is a nurse and was at her brother's side in his last illness. Mr. Hartshorn enlisted 22 Aug 1862 as a private and mustered into the 118th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company F., Captain Ruel's Company for three years. He mustered out 24 June 1865. At time of death he was the Commander of Reul Post, G.A.R. of Delphos. Funeral services held at Morris Chapel Church and interment Walnut Grove Cemetery.
