James(?) Hartshorn of Delaware

So-called, because there is no proof that he was the husband
of Ann Meridith, nor that he ever resided in the state of Ohio.

Nevertheless, Ann Meridith Hartshorn lists the
names and dates of birth of her nine Hartshorn children.
[transcribed letter from Warren O. Walker]

One of the more prolific families descended from the progenitor, was the line of Samuel. His decendants have been thoroughly researched, thanks to Eileen Thomas of Newport, Ohio and Eva Jean
Hartshorn of Woodsfield, Ohio. They are the ones responsible for this project ever getting off the ground.

This is the land in which the Hartshorns settled.

James(?) and Ann (Meridith) Hartshorn were likely the progenitors of nine children. With the help of many folks, I have tried to follow these colorful families who flourished across the state of Ohio, and beyond.

There were heroes and rascals, just like all families.
My goal has been to sort out all these folks and connect the dots--hopefully, back to England.

The links above consist of material I have accumulated over the years. Some of this information wasn't available when I published my book.

I tried to set up a "Guest Book" but that didn't work, so if you have any comments, write me at

If you would like to listed as a researcher, write me.
I'll be happy to list you here so you can reach cousins.
