Thomas Hartshorn was the first of the surname to arrive in America.
His passage is not recorded but it is believed that he came 1636-1638.
Shortly after landing, he settled in Reading, Massachusetts where many
of his descendants remain to this day. In fact, the majority of Hartshorns
in the United States are descended from Thomas.
