The Cline reunion is held every two years in the Catawba County area of North Carolina. Since 1988, Clines have met to enjoy a weekend together and tour the area where Sebastian Klein once lived, farmed, and raised a family. Many generations have come from this single man and his wife, Susan Beaver. The reunion focuses on the Clines who originated from Western North Carolina in the mid-1700s. As always, Sebastian's descendants are welcomed, as well as siblings descended from his father, Moritz.
The Cline Reunion Committee has planned a different style of gathering this year. Instead of a "top down" approach with lots of workshops, keynote speakers, displays, and trips, their approach will be "bottom up." This translates into events where family members can share who they are today, and who their ancestors were. Time will be scheduled to share stories, family heirlooms and memorabilia, histories, current talents (crafts, baked goods), and even hobbies. Items can be brought to sell, with proceeds pocketed or donated for future Cline Reunions. A schedule for the entire weekend is available on this website:

As at previous reunions, there will be a Cline Store, containing lots of souvenirs plus original art & photographs by Tommy Stine (a Cline himself). Also, available will be a computerized database where one can add information or print out a section of family genealogy. Two catered meals will be served (reservations required) but everybody is welcomed even if one doesn't eat.
On Saturday afternoon families can visit at the church, or take trips to the many Cline cemeteries or historic sites in the areas. Maps and brochures will be available. Don't forget to bring a camera!
